The Metric - Los Angeles Downtown

Fresh, small and modern hotel. Not a great location though.

Pros: Grateful to have checked in early at 11:30am for no extra charge after a long flight. The room was clean, spacious and modern. Guests are allowed to choose on pastry each morning and they’re free of charge - it was a nice touch. There’s an ice and water machine + a coffee machine with chai and hot chocolates too.

Cons: It is not in Downtown LA at all. It’s a 16-20 minute walk to the closest train station/s. There is a bus stop directly across the street but we never had any luck with it. If you were to stay here and have a car it would make more sense. We didn’t have a car so relied on walking and it wasn’t close at all.

Pros: Privacy. The hotel is very clean. The rooms are comfortable.

Cons: The breakfast is limited. There are not that many restaurants on a walk distance.

Pros: We really liked the location, as it was close to the bus station. We were able to explore the city on foot or by using public transportation, as we decided not to rent a car. Yes, we passed through some areas where people experiencing homelessness were present, but it was during the day and everything felt ok. The reception team was absolutely impeccable, and everything was extremely well organised.

Pros: Very clean perfectly acceptable place to stay for a quick work trip

Pros: Comfortable and friendly, ideal for us to visit Bellwether theatre, coffee and pastries lovely too, enjoyed our short visit.

Pros: The room was very clean. Breakfast was a huge pastry, and drinks were available all day in the lobby. Great space for travelling to West Hollywood. Many options available for a culturally diverse range of meals, would recommend trying them all 😁 Really enjoyed my stay.

Cons: Wouldn't walk around late at night alone.

Pleasant

Pros: Clean, modern, secure. Breakfast pastries was a nice tough when you’re on the run!

Cons: It was a bit noisy at night. Could hear the person above moving around as well as corridor noise. Not bad but a pain if you’re a light sleeper.

NICE HOTEL & STAFF

Pros: We had a wonderful stay at The Metric Hotel! The staff were incredibly kind, professional, and always willing to help. The hotel is modern, spotless, simple, and very functional—perfect for a comfortable stay in Los Angeles. What impressed me the most was their attention to detail: I had a package delivered before my arrival, and the team made sure it was waiting for me in my room when I checked in. That level of service really made the difference. Truly one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in LA—highly recommended!

Cons: It’s worth mentioning that Downtown LA as an area is not what it used to be—dirty, run-down, with many homeless people on the streets. That said, The Metric Hotel feels like a safe and welcoming oasis in the middle of it all.

Relaxed hotel

Pros: Modern, stylish, clean rooms. Friendly staff. Lovely breakfast and nice touch with the coffee machine

Cons: The aircon was a bit loud, the location isn’t amazing and didn’t feel the safest but I think that’s just what LA is like and the hotel itself made up for it

Very good modern hotel.

Pros: Very clean modern and well catered with friendly efficient staff.

Cons: The area was very central in LA which is good for transport links etc. however there are many tweakers nearby.
