A fun stay in Venice Beach and a fun hotel with a very cool roof terrace bar - perfect for sunset cocktails.

Pros: The hotel was in a great location with a fun roof terrace, which had amazing views. The rooms were perfect and we enjoyed the free bike rentals, enabling us to cycle up to Santa Monica and take in the scene. Breakfast was included and hit the spot. Simple yet fulfilling.

Cons: The breakfast room was small, but it all seemed to work. The parking was too expensive- we negotiated with the parking lot opposite the hotel and got a much better rate.

Pros: Great location just outside Venice Beach. Beautiful room with balcony view over the beach. Hotel staff was friendly and let us check in earlier as we had morning flight to LA. There was bike rental so we could bike to Santa Monica Pier. Nice breakfast in the morning. Definitely recommend to visit and if we are back in LA we would come back.

Great hotel, great location

Pros: Very comfortable hotel very close to the iconic Venice Beach. We had a King Room with great beach/city views. Nice airy room. Breakfast was self service but it had very good coffee and delicious yoghurt with granola, as well as pancakes and other tasty food. Valet parking not cheap, but the car park on the ground floor of the hotel was safe and hence no worries. Really quick to get onto the Promenade which goes for miles. Very clean everywhere. Also if you are travelling from LAX Airport this isn't far to travel.

Cons: Valet parking was expensive, but having a secure car space was important. The shower only had one setting of very hot, unless you turned the power down, which did achieve cooler water but less flow!

If you're looking for a room with a view to beach and culture, Hotel Erwin is your spot!

Pros: Excellent location if beach access is your priority. Easy and friendly check in / check out process. We also paid for a couple nights of on site parking and the valet process was also seamless. Amazing rooftop bar and restaurant, we visited the rooftop both during the day for brunch and in the evening for a more lounge dinner and drinks setting - amazing sunset and beach views.

Cons: While the location and staff were five star, the facilities were a bit dated. We've stayed here years ago and wanted to come back as the location is too good to pass up, and the rooms seem to have been frozen in time. Maybe intentional and not a bad thing, just something to keep in mind as the price is quite premium (justified by the location).
